Manufacturing Engineer, Associate (Level 2)

Boeing is seeking an Associate Manufacturing Engineer to join our dynamic team at Kennedy Space Center, FL. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the development and production of the CST-100 Starliner spacecraft, which is designed to transport crew to the International Space Station and beyond. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the highest quality and efficiency in manufacturing processes.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and improve manufacturing processes for the Starliner program.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to ensure manufacturability and assembly of components.
  • Analyze production data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective action for manufacturing issues.
  • Create and maintain work instructions, process documentation, and tooling requirements.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide feedback on manufacturability and assembly.
  • Work closely with suppliers to ensure quality and timely delivery of materials.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing practices.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

This position requires the ability to obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master).
  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering or a related discipline
  • Experience with aerospace manufacturing processes and standards
  • Proficiency in CAD software and manufacturing simulation tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with spacecraft primary structure manufacturing or assembly
  • Experience with Model Based Instruction (MBI) production planning
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principle
  • Familiarity with quality assurance processes and tools
