Job Description:
Work/responsibilities regularly span multiple job families within this job group. Maintains and works in a safe, reliable, cost effective manufacturing operation to produce the required product volumes, with full regard for health, safety and stakeholder concerns. Installs, maintains, repairs and troubleshoots all mechanical, hydraulic, electric equipment and instrumentation. Oversees the design, development and maintenance of operations information systems to monitor manufacturing efficiency. Coordinates and integrates the flow of materials and information among suppliers, manufacturers, distributors and customers. This job family is intended to accommodate 1) jobs whose accountabilities span two or more job families within the job group; 2) jobs that are not covered by a defined job family within the job group; 3) managerial roles spanning more than one family that are not broad enough in scope and impact to be assigned to the Business Unit/General Management job family within the Management job group.
Job Requirements:
The Production Supervisor will work directly with their team on the plant floor and is responsible for executing the production plan within defined boundaries. This position focuses on maintaining a smooth flow of material and the execution of work orders to on-time completion. The Production Supervisor leads, directs and manages all other production resources, including the use of people, machines, tools, fixtures and software where necessary. The Production Supervisor is the “front-line” of management and is responsible for executing disciplinary actions when company policies are not followed.
- Supervise and coordinate production operations while working side by side with the team.
- Develop and maintain an effective organization through the recruiting, selection, coaching, and providing performance reviews.
- Assure compliance with FDA Quality System Regulations (QSR), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and ISO regulatory requirements.
- Support and enforce the safety policies and procedures.
- Solve problems as they occur, delegating resources as necessary. Delegate overtime on an as-needed basis.
- Assist in the development of better tools and techniques to reduce costs, improve quality and boost labor efficiency.
- As a working supervisor - lead, direct, evaluate, and develop a team of cell leads who are responsible for various production activities such as assembly, processing, or packaging
- Responsible to ensure new hires are properly trained on equipment and work procedures. Ensure cross-training and development opportunities are implemented.
- Recommend and implement measures to motivate employees and increase production methods, equipment performance, product quality and efficiencies.
- Assist with the implementation and maintenance of SOP’s for FDA requirements.
- Assist with the maintenance of document control.
- Prepare for internal, as well as external quality audits. Review audit results and trends.
- Assist with and manage projects as assigned. Perform tasks as assigned by supervisor.
- Motivates personnel to perform at peak levels while maintaining a positive working environment.
- Executes the daily production plan to due date conformance and quality standards.
- Maintains accurate records of production and reporting the status of work.
- Executes disciplinary action when required.
