Job Summary

We’re looking for an Industrial Engineer to lead product and process industrialization from prototype to full production. This role focuses on product documentation, quality enhancement, cost reduction, and optimization of manufacturing systems using lean, Six Sigma, and technological investments.

The position is located onsite in Winsted, Minnesota, and reports directly to the Manager of Industrial Engineering and World Class Management (WCM).

This role requires up to 15% travel, depending on business needs.

What You Will Do

As an Industrial Engineer you will:

  • Lead industrialization projects to improve safety, quality, lead time and product cost, according to early management methodology. Secure project governance, process compliance and effective communication
  • Lead industrialization through the production stream of new product development according to EPM process. Drive Design for Excellence, ABC Classification in the product development projects and collaborate with supply chain and production planning to secure production readiness.
  • Secure technical capabilities and product knowledge is properly anchored into technical master data, SOPs and quality control plans, FMEAs and build books.
  • Ensure Operational Technology (OT) security and take ownership of local production systems.
  • Lead smart investments in automation and tech upgrades to boost production efficiency.
  • Drive the Smart Factory approach by studying the current manufacturing processes and proposing automation solutions.
  • Design and ensure manufacturing of jigs and fixtures needed to support continuous improvement projects (Kaizens) for safety, quality and productivity.
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis, Time Study, Motion Study, data analysis and value stream mapping to identify and eliminate inefficiencies.
  • Support, collaborate, and participate in WCM improvement pillars to ensure full integration of product capabilities and processes, especially with the shopfloor autonomous teams and their improvement suggestions.
  • Be a bridge between production and engineering by applying Six Sigma and lean manufacturing principles to drive process optimization and cost reduction.

We Believe You Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial disciplines (other engineering fields may also be considered).
  • Proficiency in English is required; Spanish language skills are considered an asset.
  • 1–3 years of professional experience in a production or manufacturing environment, ideally involving sheet metal fabrication.
  • Solid understanding of various manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Inventor, or SolidWorks, with the ability to design jigs and fixtures and conduct stress analysis to validate designs.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; familiarity with Power BI is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Lean and Agile manufacturing methodologies.
  • Basic project management capabilities.
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude, a commitment to continuous learning, and a hands-on approach to problem-solving.

Pay Equity

Tetra Pak provides the following compensation range that in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations.

Ranges are determined by role, level and location. Within the range, individual pay is defined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. 

This compensation range is based on a full-time schedule. The estimate displayed is just one component of Tetra Pak's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards include overtime, annual performance bonus, competitive benefits, and work-related allowances. 

Annual Base Salary Range (ABS): $70,100.00– $90,000.00.

Short-term Incentive/Bonus (Variable Pay): Eligible to performance incentive of 10% of ABS.
