As the Construction Manager – Stations , you’ll lead the delivery of safe, high-quality construction across AusNet’s regulated networks. You’ll provide expert input into project planning, design, and contractor engagement, while overseeing site readiness, safety compliance, and construction quality. Working closely with internal teams and delivery partners, you’ll ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest standards. Your role will also involve managing site inspections, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting seamless handovers to operations.


With a Hybrid split (Office/WFH), this role is based in anywhere in Victoria (preference is north (Thomastown or Benalla) or can be East (Lilydale, Beaconsfield or Hazelwood) and is part of the Field Engineering Team, with frequent travel to site within Victoria.

This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to: Controlling of Projects throughout the project lifespan (including)

  • Business case reviews
  • Delivery partner technical tender reviews
  • Design input for constructability and timelines
  • Preconstruction site reviews and inspections including documenting the works area for scope input
  • Quality as per design and Station Design Manual (SDM)
  • Delivery partner is complying with site access and security
  • Assist with incident investigations and reviews of delivery partner reports
  • Monitoring of the HSEQ practices on site in-line with the requirements
  • Principle Contractor hand over and set up
  • Early Contractor Engagement (ECI)

You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:   

  • Tertiary qualifications with an ESI Certificate 3 or above
  • Demonstrated experience within ESI environment
  • Experience in Distribution Primary/Secondary Construction
  • Ability to manage to deadlines and escalate issues where required
  • Civil experience and knowledge
  • Ability to negotiate, influence and maintain constructive stakeholder relationships
