We’re looking for a Production Supervisor to join our brand new LVL facility at our Heffley Creek Division in Kamloops, BC. This role is critical in ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality laminated veneer lumber (LVL), plywood, and residual products while supporting operational efficiency and safety.  With approximately 250 employees, Heffley Creek Division produces, LVL, Plywood and Veneer products, safely and sustainably while producing approximately 180 million square feet of plywood and 28 million square feet of veneer per year, for customers around the world so they can build their homes and their communities. 

Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment (forest products industry preferred).
  • Post-secondary education in forestry, engineering, business, or a related field would be considered an asset.
  • Proven leadership and people-management skills, including effective labor relations.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management abilities, with a strong work ethic.
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety – able to enforce safety regulations, proactively address hazards, and foster a safety-first culture (including leading regular safety meetings).
  • Willingness to work various shifts (including evenings and weekends) in a 24/7 operation.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead by example and champion Tolko’s core values – especially safety. You will enforce safety standards, address hazards, and cultivate a safety-first culture by holding regular safety meetings.
  • Supervise a production crew (10–20 members), providing clear direction and open communication to ensure safe, efficient, high-quality production.
  • Monitor production schedules and workflows to meet targets and quality standards. Track progress and adjust as needed to keep operations on schedule.
  • Hire, train, and develop production staff. You’ll conduct performance evaluations, identify training needs, and support your team’s growth and success.
