The Role:
The Senior Adobe Commerce Solution Architect is a cornerstone of our technology leadership team. This is a strategic, hands-on role responsible for defining the technical vision and driving the execution of our Adobe Commerce projects. You will be the ultimate technical authority, shaping how we solution, design, and deliver robust, scalable, and innovative commerce solutions for our clients.
From leading pre-sales solutioning, architecting enterprise-grade solutions, leading technical discovery, and providing expert consulting throughout the project lifecycle, you will ensure our technical delivery is second to none. This role demands a deep mastery of Adobe Commerce, a strategic mindset, and the ability to translate complex business needs into elegant and effective technical architecture.
What You’Ll Do:
Solution Architecture & Technical Leadership
- Own the end-to-end technical architecture for Adobe Commerce projects, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and performant.
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including architectural diagrams, data models, integration specifications, and technical design documents.
- Define and enforce development standards, best practices, and coding patterns for the Adobe Commerce platform.
- Lead technical design reviews and act as a mentor to development teams, providing guidance and ensuring adherence to the architectural vision.
- Stay ahead of industry trends, platform updates, and emerging technologies (e.g., headless commerce, composable architecture, AI in commerce) to drive innovation within our practice.
- Solution consulting on Adobe Commerce and how AEM and AEP solutions come together to drive tangible results for our clients.
Pre-Sales Engineering & Solutioning
- Act as the lead technical expert during the sales process, partnering closely with the sales and strategy teams.
- Lead technical discovery sessions with prospective clients to uncover business requirements, technical constraints, and integration needs.
- Architect compelling and viable solutions that meet client requirements and align with their budget and timeline.
- Develop detailed technical proposals, Statements of Work (SOWs), and level-of-effort (LOE) estimates.
- Confidently present proposed technical solutions to client stakeholders, including C-level executives and technical teams.
Technical Consulting & Client Advisory
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor to our clients, guiding them through complex architectural decisions and platform best practices.
- Analyze and solve challenging technical problems related to performance, integrations, security, and scalability on existing and new Adobe Commerce implementations.
- Lead technical workshops on topics such as platform selection, migration strategies, and total cost of ownership.
- Effectively communicate technical concepts and the value of your architectural decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
What You Bring:
- Adobe Commerce Expertise: 7+ years of hands-on experience with Adobe Commerce (Magento), with at least 4 years in a Solution Architect or Lead Developer role. Deep expertise in both Adobe Commerce Cloud and on-premise versions.
- Architectural Mastery: Proven track record of designing and delivering complex, large-scale eCommerce solutions.
- Pre-Sales Experience: Demonstrable experience in a pre-sales or solution engineering capacity, including estimating effort and writing technical proposals.
- eCommerce Ecosystem: Strong understanding of the broader commerce ecosystem, including integrations with systems like ERP (e.g., NetSuite, SAP), PIM, OMS, CRM, and payment gateways.
- Technical Acumen: Expert-level knowledge of PHP, MySQL, Varnish, Redis, and the core architecture of the Adobe Commerce framework. Proficient with modern DevOps, CI/CD, and cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure).
- Communication: Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills. Ability to command a room and build credibility with clients.
Nice To Have
- Certification: Adobe Certified Master - Adobe Commerce Architect.
- Headless/Composable: Experience with headless commerce implementations, GraphQL, and PWA Studio.
- Adobe Experience Cloud: Familiarity with other Adobe products such as Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), Adobe Analytics, or Adobe Experience Platform (AEP).
- Consulting Background: Previous experience working for a digital agency or a technology consulting firm.
- Leadership: Experience mentoring junior architects or technical leads.

The anticipated salary range for this position is listed below. Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, expertise, physical location, and organizational impact. This is based on a 40-hour workweek and leveling. Keep in mind, we’re flexible.
