Junior Business Analyst – EDI / Integration

Overview

We are seeking a motivated Junior Business Analyst with a strong interest in EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) and enterprise system integrations. This role is ideal for candidates who want to grow their technical and business skills within the supply chain, logistics, and transportation industry, while working closely with senior analysts, developers, and global stakeholders.

What You Will Do

• Learn and support the configuration of EDI communication protocols (such as SFTP, AS2, FTPS).
• Work with senior analysts to gather, document, and validate business and technical requirements.
• Assist in creating and maintaining functional and technical specification documents for development teams.
• Support integration testing by reviewing data formats, validating transaction flows, and troubleshooting errors with guidance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, QA testers, business stakeholders, and external trading partners.
• Participate in training sessions and gain hands-on experience with EDI standards and integration tools.
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives by documenting lessons learned and suggesting enhancements to workflows.

What You Will Learn

• Industry EDI standards: ANSI X12, EDIFACT, XML, and other structured/unstructured formats.
• Tools such as IBM ITX (WTX), WebSphere MQ, and integration brokers.
• Communication protocols for secure data exchange.
• Best practices for system mapping, data validation, and transaction monitoring.
• How enterprise-level integrations support global supply chains, warehousing, and transportation networks.
• Fundamentals of project management and working within agile delivery environments.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
• Basic knowledge of data formats (CSV, XML, JSON, etc.).
• Comfortable working in a technical environment with scripting, SQL, or UNIX/Linux basics.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• High attention to detail, willingness to learn, and ability to follow structured processes.
• Strong analytical mindset with problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

• Exposure to ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) or WMS/TMS platforms.
• Understanding of supply chain or logistics business processes.
• Prior internship or entry-level experience in IT, systems integration, or business analysis.
• Familiarity with EDI transactions such as 850 (PO), 856 (ASN), 204 (Load Tender), 214 (Shipment Status), and 810 (Invoice).
• Experience working in an agile or hybrid project delivery environment.
