Job Title - Financial Controller - National Commercial & Waste Valorisation
Salary - Competitive Salary plus Veolia benefits
Location - Warrington / Cannock / Flexible with Hybrid working available
Hours - Full time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
What You’Ll Do
We are looking for an individual with the confidence to scrutinise and challenge data and decisions. The successful applicant will be a true business partner, capable of supporting the National Commercial business and multiple sites across the Waste Valorisation Businesses
This role will be part of the Commercial Senior Finance team. Critical to success will be spending time with members of the Senior Commercial Team to understand the business strategy and challenges to ensure financial support is fit for purpose and in line with the wider Veolia strategy.
You will be responsible for
- The National Commercial Region including National Account Sub Contracting, Dedicated retail Card contracts, 2 x Compliance Schemes under separate Legal Entities, and associated overheads
- 3 x Recovered Paper sites and Waste Valorisation including the National Vault Business, Darlaston Plastics (Separate Legal Entity) and associated overheads
- Commercial Divisional Overheads, including CET Overheads, CRT and Telesales, and Commercial Divisional Overheads for Management and Sales
- The Consolidation of accurate monthly management accounts prepared by the team and reporting results and variances to the Commercial Finance Director and Senior Leadership Team;
- Responsible for the timely and accurate completion and submission of Stat Accounts, Company Audits
- The responsibility to oversee and prepare forecasts/budgets in liaison with Operations Managers, General Managers and Regional Sales Managers supporting/advising as required;
- Ensure accurate Mid Month forecasts are reported accurately
- Capex reporting & forecasting
- Supporting the Operational leadership team with the preparation of financial models
- Business Partner for the Commercial Senior Leadership Team across multiple disciplines,
- Manage and develop a team of 6, including Finance Manager, 2 x Finance Business Partners and Management Accountants who are responsible for Multiple Recovered Paper and Vault Depots, National Commercial P&L’s and overheads .
- Ensure strong Balance Sheet control culture for all cost centers under responsibility
- Ensuring that the business performance is correctly measured and accurately reported;
- Providing support for Internal and External Audit across all legal entities. Overall responsibility for the completion of 3 x sets of Statutory accounts prepared by the team
- Supporting any ad hoc project requests within the team;
- Ensuring compliance with Accounting Standards and other specific internal and external guidelines.

- The experience you will need
- You will be a fully qualified accountant at a recognised awarding body – CIMA, ACA, ACCA essential with a number of years relevant post qualification experience.
- You should have experience of financial modelling, management accounting, together with the ability to influence decisions within a large complex organisation.
- Excellent people management skills are also a requirement to be able to manage a team and business partner with non-finance professionals at the highest level.
- Having strong systems knowledge (in particular exposure to Workday, Adaptive Insights, Microsoft/Google packages would be advantageous however training will be given).
- A full UK driving licence is essential, as travel to some of our other sites will be expected.
