Solution Architect

We have an incredible opportunity to join us here at Phoenix Group as a Solution Architect to join our Solution Architecture  team.

Job Type: Fixed Term Contract (12 Months)

Location: This role is hybrid based in either Edinburgh with time spent working in the office and at home

Salary and benefits: £60,000 - £80,000 plus 16% bonus up to 32%, private medical cover, 38 days annual leave, excellent pension, 12x salary life assurance, career breaks, income protection, 3x volunteering days and much more

The Role

As a Solution Architect within Phoenix Group IT Change and Delivery, you will be responsible for the development of solution architecture outputs across one or more architecture domains that are in alignment with the Group Enterprise Architecture.  This is a key role within the Group Change Management Framework and is pivotal to the successful delivery of IT change.. Working collaboratively as part of wider architecture and change teams is key to this role.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Translation of business objectives and goals into deliverable architectural solutions. 
• Prioritisation of solutions based on value delivery, not just feasibility.
• Attending and contributing to architecture reviews with a focus on delivery impact (e.g., time-to-market, scalability, cost).  
• Delivery of high quality, project driven Solution Architecture and Design artefacts,  
• Working with other IT architecture domains and wider IT stakeholders to deliver robust and cost effective solutions 
• Strong decision making capabilities and capable of communicating with and influencing stakeholders where appropriate.

What are we looking for?

• Extensive solution architecture skills preferably within a Financial Services environment  
• Strong communication skills with experience of communicating with different levels of stakeholders on a regular basis and being able to represent Solutions Architecture across Group IT and the wider Phoenix Group when required
• Knowledge and understanding of architecture and design processes within managed IT change processes  
• Adaptable approaches and behaviours to deal with any emerging issues and challenges.
