This internship will take place during the summer of 2026 in Redmond, WA.
As a Finance MBA Intern, you will work for 12 weeks in the Treasury Team at Microsoft. This team is responsible for the oversight of Microsoft’s $120 billion in financial assets, global cash and bank account infrastructure, and supports collection of over 95% of Microsoft’s revenue. Treasury develops and executes funding strategies to support Microsoft’s AI and Cloud investments and provides broad perspective on business risk and strategies to mitigate it. Interns will have the opportunity to work alongside members of the Treasury Team to deliver recommendations on key projects. These projects will provide you with valuable insights into the company, its stakeholders’ objectives, internal systems, operating practices, and constraints. You will be able to apply your previous knowledge and skills to develop solutions to complex issues.
Throughout your internship, you will have the chance to learn about various aspects of the company and its Treasury operations. At the end of your internship, you will have the opportunity to present your work and findings to upper-level finance leaders. Responsibilities
- Contributes to the analysis of current and projected cash flows, liquidity positions, and capital requirements for various products, segments, or business units. Assists senior treasury team members in conducting research and analysis on cash management strategies, funding activities, and portfolio investment opportunities.
- Assists in the planning and execution of annual capital return and cash flow forecasting process. Gathers insight and contributes to analysis and research of capital return metrics and capital structure trends across the tech industry and large-cap peers.
- Provides input on strategies for optimizing liquidity, managing financial and foreign exchange risks, investment of excess cash, key treasury performance indicators (KPIs), long-term capital planning, and maintaining compliance with corporate investment and banking policies. Manages and executes treasury processes through collaboration with internal and external banking partners and stakeholders.
- Be an active member of the Treasury macroeconomic team and support our investment process. Learn how macroeconomic factors, corporate cashflow, and yield objectives drive the investment decision-making process. Leverage insights from portfolio managers, economic data, and external research to proactively model and propose asset allocation strategies based on a risk/return framework

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Full-time Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree.
- Must have at least 1 semester/term remaining following the completion of the internship.
- 3+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, finance, or related field OR equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), Treasury, or banking within a global organization
- Proven track record of working in large-scale global organizations
- Extensive corporate finance experience, including financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting
The base pay range for this internship is USD $5120.00 - $10130.00 per month. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $6720.00 - $11200.00 per month.
