ARES seeks an Aerospace Systems Engineer to join an engineering team supporting Blue Origin and NASA’s Human Landing System (HLS) Program. The selected candidate will perform a range of Systems Engineering tasks, including development of Hazard Analyses, Failure Modes and Effects Analyses (FMEA), and reliability assessments to support HLS element design and development.
The preferred location is near Blue Origin’s Denver, CO facility to enable in-person collaboration; however, fully remote arrangements may be considered for highly qualified candidates.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct Hazard Analyses for flight-critical systems encompassing both ground and flight operations.
- Develop Failure Modes and Effects Analyses (FMEA) to identify, assess, and prioritize potential failure modes and their effects on system performance and safety.
- Perform reliability assessments to evaluate the system’s ability to accomplish its intended function throughout mission operations.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in aerospace system design, development, test, or operations.
- Prior experience conducting hazard analyses, FMEA, or reliability assessments for aerospace systems.
Education And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, or a related technical field, with 3+ years of professional experience in engineering or an equivalent technical discipline.
- Multiple positions are available for both experienced professionals and early-career engineers
