Job Description

This role focuses on OSP (Outside Plant) Automation Engineering, with responsibility for designing and delivering the technical aspects of automation and IT integration for projects.

Job Objectives

• Collaborate with key stakeholders to translate project requirements into a comprehensive automation strategy and technical solution.
• Develop User Requirement Documents (URDs) outlining core automation and IT integration needs. Communicate these requirements to vendors and ensure systems are specified and delivered in alignment with the overall strategy.
• Provide technical feedback and design assurance throughout all project phases—from concept development to detailed design and equipment selection. This includes reviewing and approving design documentation as needed.
• Support Project Leaders, Technical Managers, and Work Package Owners by facilitating effective communication between vendors, contractors, and internal teams to ensure design intent and quality standards are met.
• Assist in commissioning and qualification (C&Q) activities, including documentation preparation and participation in testing processes.
• Collaborate with the client team to propose an effective OT (Operational Technology) operating model and ensure a smooth transition and handover of OT systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in automation system engineering within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Proven track record in managing and executing automation projects in a global environment, with specific experience in China.
• Hands-on experience across the full lifecycle of automation system delivery in a licensed GMP commercial facility, including design, specification, procurement, installation, startup, and commissioning.
• Proficiency with automation platforms such as Siemens, Rockwell, or Emerson.
• Solid understanding of industry standards and regulatory frameworks, including GAMP5, GMP, FDA, and EU regulations.

Preferred:

• Basic understanding of warehouse material flow.
• Strong knowledge of Warehouse Management System will be plus, especially Swisslog Product SynQ, HIKON RCS/AGV
