A Snapshot
We’re looking for a curious and detail-driven Capacity Analyst to join our Energy & Land Strategy team, reporting to the Associate Vice President. This role plays a key part in shaping how we understand and plan for power availability across our operating regions, helping AirTrunk make smarter, faster decisions.
This role can be based in Sydney or Melbourne.
You'Re Day To Day
- Develop and maintain a real-time tracker and heat map of power availability across AirTrunk’s target markets, using data from utilities, regulators, and internal sources.
- Analyse grid capacity margins, transmission constraints, and infrastructure upgrades to guide site selection and development.
- Provide data-led insights to support strategic projects, including scenario modelling and risk assessments.
- Partner with the Energy team to support grid connection strategies, site planning, and capacity forecasting.
- Collaborate with teams across strategy, development, and sustainability to embed grid insights into planning and investment decisions.
- Stay across regulatory changes, transmission plans, major projects (including large load users), and utility updates that impact power availability.
- Support scenario modelling and forecasting for grid capacity and energy infrastructure development.
Requirements:
- A degree in Engineering, Energy Systems, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related field.
- 3+ years’ experience in energy analytics, grid planning, or infrastructure strategy, ideally within data centres, utilities, or energy consulting.
- Strong skills in data analysis tools such as Excel, Power BI, Python, or GIS platforms.
- Solid understanding of electricity markets, grid infrastructure, and regulatory frameworks in APAC.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with a range of stakeholders.
