The Opportunity:


CACI is seeking a highly skilled Software Architect (T5) to join our team responsible for providing comprehensive Integrated Product Support (IPS) services for the Tactical Integrated Ground Suite (TIGS) System of Systems (SoS). The Software Architect will play a critical role in designing and developing software architectures that support the sustainment engineering and integrated product support lifecycles of the TIGS SoS. This role will ensure warfighting readiness by enhancing the operational availability and mission effectiveness of all currently deployed and future TIGS SoS.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the lead Software Architect for the TIGS program, working closely with program leadership and technical Integrated Product Team (IPT) leads to identify and address software architecture, requirements, features, development processes, integration, test, automation, and all other aspects of software pertinent to the sustainment engineering and integrated product support lifecycles.
  • Collaborate with program management, lead systems engineer, and cross-functional engineering teams to develop, execute, maintain, and continuously improve comprehensive project plans.
  • Help the engineering team identi fy, track, monitor, and improve performance against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) such as Google's DORA soft ware metrics.
  • Set the strategic vision, architecture, and intent for product code as well as any automation frameworks, software test tools, and software test environments developed in support of the program.
  • Design and develop software architectures, evaluate design tradeoffs, and define technical standards related to software, firmware components, or computing systems to be applied to and integrated with complex solutions or products.
  • Support the definition and refinement of high-level and non-functional requirements. Determine software solution components and subsystems and the interfaces and interactions between them.
  • Provide technical direction related to the implementation of software architectures by other staff.
  • Foster a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and efficient problem-solving while ensuring all technical requirements and project specifications are met.
  • Address and troubleshoot technical issues and problems that arise during the project lifecycle; provide solutions and guidance to the engineering team to overcome challenges and keep the project on track.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Ability to maintain active TS/SCI clearance
  • Implements strategic goals that improve existing processes and practices in collaboration with program leadership and IPT leads
  • Develops and implements innovative products, processes, standards, or operational plans achieved through research and integration of best practices that will have an impact on the achievement of functional results of a project or system
  • Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field (e.g. software engineering, computer science, etc.) with a minimum of 10 years of related work experience.
  • Preference towards candidates who can describe modern architectural approaches which include microservices-oriented architectures, use of virtualization, and infrastructure/configuration as code automation using technologies like Ansible.
  • Proven ability to lead and facilitate meetings with diverse groups of technical stakeholders.
  • Soft skills such as: Problem solving, Communication, Adaptability, Critical thinking, Time management, and Interpersonal communication skills for communication with all levels, including with executive leadership

Desired:

  • Familiarity with the operation, integration, testing, maintenance, or sustainment of the Tactical Integrated Ground Suite(TIGS) System of Systems (SoS) or similarly complex DoD systems.
  • Experience working with Agile/Scrum/Kanban execution methodologies within a DoD project context.

The proposed salary range for this position is:
