Product Safety & Compliance protect our consumers, build the LEGO Group’s reputation, and facilitate market access by ensuring that LEGO® products are safe by design and meet or exceed applicable legal requirements globally. We establish internal rules for safe and compliant LEGO® products, approve all used materials and elements, and ensure they meet or exceed global legal requirements.
Core Responsibilities
- Monitor upcoming external product-related regulatory requirements for China. Evaluate how the requirements may affect the internal LEGO product safety and compliance requirements, when necessary by collaboration with internal stakeholders
- Contribute to timely updates of the internal product safety and compliance documents, and communicate the changes to affected stakeholders to ensure implementation
- Ensure LEGO products are compliant with certification and labelling requirements within China
- Provide operational compliance support on the understanding and implementation of all national requirements in China, and initiate/influence necessary corrective actions relative to safety and compliance
- Engage in relevant national standardization activities, and ensure stakeholder management with specified external stakeholders
Do you have what it takes?
- 5-10 years experience from working with regulatory compliance in the consumer product sector with strong knowledge of international safety standards and regulations applicable to toys and/or consumer products
- Functional expertise in Chinese regulatory requirements for consumer goods/toys and skills to convert them to product-relevant internal requirements
- Relevant academic training at Bachelor/Master level or relevant work experience that has provided knowledge on a similar level
- Experience from managing and collaborating with external vendors, regulatory stakeholders and other external stakeholders
- A passion for play and creativity, aligned with the LEGO Group's values
Nice To Have:
- Skilled network builder across different functional areas
- Experience with LEAN and/or continuous improvement activities
- Ability to drive data driven activities and decisions
- General IT skills (e.g. MS Office, and SAP)
- Experience as project leader
Language Skills:
- Advanced level skills in English speech and writing
- Fluent in Chinese speech and writing
