We’re seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Payroll Officer / HR Administrator to join our Human Resources team. This role combines the precision of payroll management with the variety of HR administration — perfect for someone who enjoys responsibility and thrives in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment.
You’ll be responsible for accurate, compliant payroll processing and will play an important role in supporting HR activities across recruitment, onboarding, training, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing across multiple business entities.
- Oversee payroll tax, superannuation, IAS, and STP compliance.
- Reconcile payroll data and prepare entity-level reports.
- Set up payroll for new entities and stores.
- Maintain HR records, contracts, and onboarding processes.
- Support WHS and workers’ compensation administration.
- Manage training systems and compliance tracking.
- Prepare management reports and contribute to HR projects as required
About You
You’re accurate, organised, and thrive when balancing multiple priorities. You’re confident with payroll systems and love getting the details right — but you also enjoy the people side of HR. You take pride in providing professional, responsive support and being a go-to person for your team.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- 2+ years’ payroll experience, ideally across multiple entities.
- Strong understanding of payroll legislation, superannuation, and STP.
- Proficient in Excel and familiar with HRIS systems (KeyPay or Employment Hero a plus).
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
Desirable:
- HR administration experience.
- Familiarity with WHS and workers’ compensation processes.
- Experience in retail, trade, or multi-site environments.
