Your Impact
We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Controller to join our team in CS3. The CS3 Project Controls team is undergoing an exciting transformation in our ways of working - this is a high visibility opportunity to work across our Sectors to embed good practices as well as work within our IPT teams. Accountabilities Include:
Delivers Project Controls on Projects through the application of consistent processes, methods, governance and provision of guidance to the wider IPT in line with Leonardo processes
Ownership of the Project Schedules - drive and promote optimal schedule quality and best practice management techniques including application of schedule risk analysis at all stages of the project lifecycle
Apply resource scheduling techniques to optimise schedules, identify and resolve conflicts
Lead Project Controls for the establishment and management of schedule focused activities in the bid phase to ensure best practice is followed, risks managed, a schedule which identifies the costs and optimal resource profile is delivered and ensures schedules can transition to execution with minimal impact
Conduct what if analysis to drive decision taking and risk mitigation, making recommendations to the IPT as appropriate
Application of Schedule Risk Analysis techniques including identification, methods of analysis and recommendations for project team on how to manage/mitigate
Apply Project Controls metrics and measures (inc EV) and reports to IPT / PCM on the outcomes, alongside recommendations to address issues
Actively contribute to IPT and Business area Project reviews (PPRP, Schedule Reviews etc) through delivering the Project Controls inputs
Build and maintain good working relationships with all functions across applicable Projects in order to influence project activities
We want to find the best person for the role, so you can based in any of our UK sites. Our Edinburgh team has a buzzy on-site presence, so you’ll be on site 2 days a week if Edinburgh based. All other locations are office based on an ad hoc basis. As a multi-site team, occasional travel will be required to support your IPT teams.
What You’Ll Bring
Comprehensive and demonstrable Project Controls/ Planning experience with experience in all aspects of planning, project controls and knowledge of project management methodologies
Demonstrated experience using techniques and procedures e.g. Earned Value, Work Breakdown Structure and Network Planning
Proficient on SAP/Primavera Tool for planning and project management elements or similar planning tool
Breadth of understanding in all parts of lifecycle and experience in the phases of initiation, planning and execution
Ability to influence internal stakeholders, using data and analysis to support line of reasoning
Works independently, in compliance with all procedures and able to recognise appropriate escalation scenarios
Good business knowledge to suggest and analyse what-if scenarios
Holds APMG Project Controls Foundation and Practitioner Level Certification or meets the criteria to undertake this training

This role is subject to pre-employment screening in line with the UK Government’s Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). An additional range of Personnel Security Controls referred to as National Security Vetting (NSV) may apply, this could include meeting the eligibility requirements for The Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV).
