The Workflows FX Engineering team are recruiting DevOps/Service Reliability Engineers to play a crucial role in our organisation. The successful candidate will become part of an engineering team addressing complex challenges and taking these to resolution. This provides a phenomenal opportunity for individuals who enjoy solving a variety of problems and who relish the chance to lead the resolution of exciting and new challenges on a regular basis.
The DevOps engineer will collaborate with colleagues across the organisation to build and implement the technical strategy for a set of Engineering Products within our FX group. They will ensure business requirements are applied and lean on their experience of service reliability engineering and development lifecycles to lead change in exciting software challenges and customer solutions.
Key Responsibilities And Accountabilities
- Demonstrates extensive knowledge of cloud, DevOps and SRE technologies and/or subjective matter expert knowledge of a technology, advising others on design, development and implementation of secure, cost-effective solutions
- Advances tools and applications by producing expert code and producing the right solutions needed
- Manages own workload and promotes an inclusive and open culture
- Is regarded as the point of contact in their domain by showing significant depth of knowledge and expertise in Service Reliability and DevOps
- Understands how the technology / domain strategy relates to and impacts own work, supporting the implementation of strategy within all work. Contributes to strategy definition where appropriate
- Develops an understanding of the market and LSEG's commercial position in it
- Contributes meaningful to multiple projects, working autonomously and with little direction
- Collaborates with software engineering and infrastructure teams to define and implement secure, reusable and
- Supports design work and planning for Epics breaking them down to stories with product owners and software engineering leads
- Adapts existing patterns to develop robust solutions
- Builds positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, growing own network and collaborating with other teams. Communicates challenging technical information clearly and concisely in an audience appropriate format
- Continues to develop technology and industry expertise through certifications, professional qualifications
- Ensure security, compliance and cost-efficiency across Azure environments
- Documenting operational processes, configurations and troubleshooting workflows
Qualifications And Experience
Nice To Have:
- Professional qualification or equivalent
- Basic financial understanding of trading systems and financial markets.
- Experience of Azure network configuration and troubleshooting
Must Have:
- Significant experience in designing, provisioning and operating cloud Infrastructure platforms and technologies - Gitlab CI/CD pipelines, Bash scripted provisioning and deployment, infrastructure-as-code (terraform)
- Experience in delivering scalable application cloud deployment patterns (helm, kubernetes)
- Monitoring and troubleshooting cloud resources – health, provisioning issues, and cost-effectiveness
Occasional out of hours work, including overnight and at weekends and Bank Holidays may be requested, as well as on-call technical support.
