Are you a detail-oriented individual with a passion for law and a gift for administrative excellence? We’re on the lookout for a talented Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team at Minor DKL Food Group.
Minor DKL Food Group is a leading Australian retail food franchisor and the Australian subsidiary of the Thai-listed Minor International PCL. With brands including The Coffee Club and Veneziano Coffee, and boasting over 400 stores across 11 countries, our network employs more than 5,000 people.
What is the role?
Reporting to the Senior Legal Counsel, the Paralegal plays a vital role in supporting the Legal team across a broad range of legal and administrative functions. This is a part-time role (around three days per week), though if you’re looking for more hours, we’re happy to discuss options that could work for both sides.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about legal research and documentation. Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing draft legal documents such as Disclosure Documents and Franchise Agreements, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Liaising with landlords and internal property teams to gather essential information and prepare draft Lessor Disclosure Statements and Premises Licenses.
- Handling correspondence and notices, obtaining approvals from corporate lawyers, and coordinating documentation distribution.
- Acting as a reliable point of contact, addressing queries from various stakeholders and collaborating across departments.
- Facilitating approvals and execution of original documents by our directors, ensuring timely completion.
- Maintaining records including databases of documentation and compliance calendars with precision and attention to detail.
- Conducting legal research to support the legal team.
- Reviewing and summarising third-party contracts (subject to confirmation from qualified legal team members).
Who are we looking for?
You are someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will possess:
- Previous experience in a similar role, demonstrating high administrative skills and attention to detail.
- Currently studying law or holding a relevant qualification.
- Familiarity with The Franchise Code of Conduct is preferred but not mandatory.
- Experience conducting legal research and the ability prepare clear, concise research memorandums.
- Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Willingness to learn and adapt with a proactive approach to tasks.
