- Where necessary, run multiple scheduling scenarios and provide recommendations backed by data to the broader team on what scenarios should be adopted including where shifts changes may need to occur and be reflected in updated rosters.
- Continuously monitor and evaluate changes that could impact the schedule (e.g. planned and unplanned machine downtime, variations in resource availability updates to priorities etc.) and make scheduling adjustments as required, reporting changes and impacts to the team.
- Communicate any changes or updates to production schedules to all relevant teams in a timely manner.
- Track actual progress against the production schedule, identifying and reporting issues and risks.
- Provide timely reporting and updates to the Head of Production, Production Planner and other relevant stakeholders on the status of ongoing production orders including planned versus actual production schedule data.
Continuous Improvement:
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting changes that can improve the efficiency of production scheduling and resource utilisation.
- Analyse production data to identify trends, bottlenecks, or inefficiencies in the production process and propose corrective actions.
Production Planning:
- Work closely with the Production Planner and workshare or perform production planning duties if coverage is required from time to time.
- Learn how to forecast and plan longer term production deliverables, inform order lead times and promised delivery dates.
