BlueScope.com

Office

Archerfield, QLD, Australia

Full Time

Job Description

BlueScope is an Australian-born global success story spanning 15 countries. Our team of over 16,500 people is our strength and we want our people to be safe, successful and well. We’re leaders and innovators in transforming steel into smart products and solutions that support society, today and in the future. We’re proud of brands, like COLORBOND ® steel that inspire and protect everything from hospitals to bridges and stadiums.

The Opportunity

Our Lysaght business is looking for a Product Manager – Home Improvements to join the Market Development team with option to be based in Archerfield QLD, Minchinbury NSW or Novar Gardens SA. Made in Australia since 1921, Lysaght manufactures and markets steel building products that have helped shape the nation: from iconic corrugated roofing over Australian homes, to large commercial and industrial projects.

This is a great opportunity for someone with strong technical experience to play a key role in shaping and improving our Home Improvement product range and design software.

What Will You Do?

In this role, you’ll manage technical product data, coordinate product and system enhancements, and provide support to our people and customers on technical, construction and software matters.

A key focus will be our CAD-based design software - identifying and resolving issues, improving system performance, and ensuring every product combination delivers a complete and accurate solution.  You will:

  • proactively research, identify, and assess emerging market segment trends and new product offerings
  • provide strategic recommendations to guide product development and ensure our Home Improvement range remains competitive and aligned with evolving customer needs and industry standards
  • manage and maintain technical data for Home Improvement products and related software
  • coordinate improvements to both products and design software, including writing development scopes, testing scripts and performing validation tests.
  • provide support for technical, construction and software queries from internal teams and external customers
  • ensure technical documentation, drawings and installation guides are correct and up to date
  • work closely with engineering, sales, marketing and operations to support product and software improvements that meet customer needs and compliance standards

More About You

You’re a practical problem solver with a mix of technical expertise and strong digital skills. You take pride in getting the details right, improving systems, and ensuring products and designs are accurate. You enjoy helping others understand and apply technical solutions effectively, collaborating across teams to deliver quality outcomes that support both our people and our customers.

You could come from a range of backgrounds, including residential construction, structural design, estimating, quantity surveying or a similar field. What matters most is your ability to apply your knowledge, solve problems, and make systems and products work better for everyone. You will also bring:

  • an aptitude for using computer systems including design or drafting software
  • the ability to teach and support users, and solve technical or product-related software issues
  • effective written and verbal communication skills
  • well-developed organisation skills, with the ability to work to plan and meet timelines.
  • high attention to detail - ensuring solutions are accurate and complete
  • confidence in presenting ideas or training to internal and external audiences
