The Director, Real Estate is responsible for Practice Maintenance, AEG Lease Portfolio Mgt., develop and manage real estate budgets, forecasts, and financial plans as well as Practice/Field Support. This management role for Real Estate will further develop and enhance process for areas listed above as well as presenting their department updates and recommendations to Operations, ELT and AEG Team Members where applicable.


  • Practice Maintenance – works with AEG national partner to address practice maintenance issues – e.g., plumbing, heating/cooling, roof leaks, etc.
  • Oversee the management and maintenance of existing properties, ensuring they are well-maintained and operating efficiently.
  • Leads Facilities team to sign up new practices for services, manage and approve work orders
  • Works with Finance, Operations and Associate VP of Real Estate to determine yearly Capex Budget
  • Practices Signage – work with Marketing Team to update Practice signage where the Practice Brand name is changing
  • Lease Management:
  • Partners with Associate VP of Real Estate, Finance, Operations and Real Estate Committee to determine action on lease expirations – renew, relocate, reject/close
  • Lease Negotiations, lead Brokerage Firm and AEG lease manager to negotiate Lease renewals, closures relocation gaining favorable terms for AEG (money for TI, term, etc.)
  • Ensure all real estate activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards
  • Manage Lease Management Software, input, quality control, system updates
  • Develop and manage real estate budgets, forecasts, and financial plans, ensuring projects are completed within budget and on time.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with real estate investments and operations.
  • Monitor real estate market trends and provide recommendations to senior leadership on potential opportunities and challenges
  • Team Leadership
  • Provide leadership and guidance to a real estate team, setting performance objectives and fostering a collaborative work environment
  • Participates in Quarterly Real Estate Review Calls, updates PPT decks, etc.
  • Updates and maintains the AEG Corporate Standards Playbook
  • Develops new Process and constantly looks to improve existing processes
  • Effectively leads project team meetings/calls and consistently meets deadlines
  • Supports the Field/Practices as needed

Qualifications
  • College degree is preferred and/or a strong track record of achievement in Corporate Practice/Store Operations Functions (previous Real Estate experience is a plus)
  • Optical industry experience (Corporate) is preferred but not required
  • Effectively collaborates, gains alignment and leads cross-functional teams across the organization and shares information with others via written and verbal communication
  • Works well under pressure, meets deadlines, is very organized and responsive
  • Operates well in ambiguity and uses sound judgement
  • Strong people/communication and project management skills are required
  • Ability to travel 35% of the time (some weeks/months will require more travel than others depending on business initiatives)

Salary Range: $120K to $135K per year
