Merchants Bank is seeking a Graphic Designer. This position may require occasional travel to our headquarters in Winona, MN, but can be based out of any Merchants Bank location in Minnesota or Wisconsin where office space is available.

This full-time position will be 40 hours per week generally working 8:00am – 4:30pm Monday through Friday.

This role is primarily focused on graphic design and email marketing (90%), with additional responsibilities supporting a wide range of marketing initiatives (10%) across all affiliate banks.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter, highly organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks. Requires a degree in Graphic Design, Advertising, or related field. Must be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, email marketing software and Microsoft Office suite products. Must have excellent communication skills. Essential Responsibilities:
• Assist Creative and Digital Marketing Team Lead in managing workflow associated with development of all printed and digital materials to ensure quality, consistency and brand image.
• Collaborate with Marketing colleagues on strategic Marketing and company-wide campaigns to support business goals – defining goals and objectives, creating a unified brand design across media and targeting audiences from a graphics perspective.
• Manage vendor relationships with print advertisers – i.e. respond to vendor inquiries, reserve ad space, and manage workflows. Apply budget and efficiency principles when making decisions - managing costs in time, price, and employee resources. Collaborate with the Director of Marketing on decisions.
• Responsible for print design, including but not limited to newspaper, event invitations, sponsorship ads, trade shows, lobby display signs, direct mail, sell sheets, testimonials, banners, coupons, product flyers, sales presentations, promotional items graphics.
• Assist with the development of digital marketing designs. Have a general understanding of digital analytics to drive customer experience and engagement.
• Develop social media graphics to support social media content strategy to drive follower engagement.
• Responsible for administration of company lobby digital sign system, system maintenance, vendor relationship, ad campaign development, creation and scheduling.
• Responsible for administration of email marketing system and execution of all email marketing, including template design, graphic content, tracking and reporting of all campaign analytics to interested parties. Will work with Digital Marketing Manager and Marketing Coordinator on content and train that position as back up on administration.
• Email List Management Quality Control – Will be responsible for working directly with internal departments - providing email lists when there are addresses that need to be updated or add that email to the do not mail list. When there is an obvious error, such as @ missing from email address, position will be responsible for working with Deposit Support, or other designated resource, to update address in core system.
• Lead coordination efforts of trade show participation, with responsibility for all design work, and working with Marketing Coordinator to fulfill all non-design elements.
• Lead coordination efforts for community appreciation events, and other branch events, with responsibility for all design work, and working with Marketing Coordinator to fulfill all non-design elements. For large events, will be responsible for coordinating check-in meetings with Marketing Coordinator and branches as necessary to assure proper event fulfillment.
• Provide administrative and graphic support for all pages of the website. Responsible for website management for community and branch event listings.
• Serve as one of the company photographers and be responsible for downloading and editing all photos you take. May involve travel.
• Support business line project implementations with design, branding, customer communication, testing, and back up website integration.

Mental Demands/Education:
• Requires individual with degree in Graphic Design, Advertising, or related field.
• Exceptional computer skills
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite
• Proficient in email marketing software
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Requires individual to possess above average oral and written communication skills, including the ability to express ideas in a clear and concise manner
• Ability to work independently and make decisions within authority
• Has strong problem solving and time management skills; ability to prioritize and meet multiple deadlines
• Videography experience a plus, with knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro
• Knowledgeable in professional studio photography

Physical Working Conditions:
Climate-controlled inside working environment with low noise level. No environmental hazards or chemicals. Work will primarily be performed while sitting at a desk. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Average ability in manual dexterity, finger dexterity, and motor coordination. Able to speak, see, and hear.

Relationship:
Responsible to Creative and Digital Marketing Team Lead for clarification of position responsibilities and authority, and proper interpretation of responsibilities. Position will have high degree of telephone and personal contact with co-workers, vendors and media representatives. Must have ability to work effectively and professionally. Must conduct self in a manner that will enhance the overall image of Merchants Financial Group and all of its affiliate Banks.
