Purpose/Description
The Plumber Foreperson supervises Plumbers and performs as a skilled Plumber involving the installation, maintenance and repair of plumbing systems, fixtures, and equipment and prepares estimates of material, time, and labor requirements. The duties are performed under the general direction of the Building Maintenance Supervisor
- Required Tasks
- Major Duties:
- Supervise and assign jobs to Plumbers.
- Work as a Plumber, maintain and install water lines, drains, fixtures and toilets.
- Install and maintain washout hoses and fill stations.
- Maintain main sewers.
- Order material for new jobs and shop.
- Maintain water to boilers.
- Other duties:
- Review blueprints, building codes, or specifications to determine work details or procedures.
- Estimate time, material, or labor costs for use in project plans.
- Install underground storm, sanitary, or water piping systems, extending piping as needed to connect fixtures and plumbing.
- Inspect structures to assess material or equipment needs, to establish the sequence of pipe installations, or to plan installation around obstructions, such as electrical wiring.
- Install green plumbing equipment, such as faucet flow restrictors, dual-flush or pressure-assisted flush toilets, or tankless hot water heaters.
- Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned.

Educational/Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; AND
- Five years' experience as a full-time paid licensed plumber; AND
- Valid state of Michigan Driver's license with a safe and acceptable driving record; AND
- Valid state of Michigan Plumber Journeyman License;
