Purpose Of The Role

The Heavy Equipment Coordinator supports this mission by ensuring the effective planning, allocation, and management of heavy construction equipment across energy, chemicals, and resources projects.

This entry-level position offers hands-on experience in construction coordination, providing technical and logistical support for heavy equipment operations both in the field and office. Working closely with experienced project and site management personnel, the Heavy Equipment Coordinator contributes to safe, efficient, and cost-effective equipment utilization, supporting the successful delivery of projects that advance Worley’s vision of a more sustainable world.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support daily coordination of heavy equipment activities, including scheduling, mobilization, and demobilization in alignment with project requirements.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate equipment records, including inspections, maintenance schedules, certifications, and usage logs.
  • Prepare and update reports, cost summaries, and utilization analyses to ensure optimal allocation of equipment and resources.
  • Work closely with construction, procurement, and field supervision teams to track equipment availability and resolve logistical challenges.
  • Participate in site inspections to monitor equipment condition, performance, and compliance with safety and environmental standards.
  • Assist in reviewing vendor documentation, invoices, and cost coding related to equipment rentals or company-owned assets.
  • Support the implementation of digital systems and tools used to monitor equipment performance and logistics.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes to enhance equipment efficiency, reduce downtime, and support sustainable construction practices.
  • Learn and apply Worley’s quality, safety, and sustainability standards in all daily operations.

Qualifications / Skillset

  • Education:Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related technical field. Equivalent trade qualifications combined with relevant field experience will also be considered.
  • Technical Knowledge:

  • Basic understanding of construction equipment functions, operating principles, and maintenance requirements.
  • Awareness of logistics and resource management processes in heavy industrial or construction environments.
  • Familiarity with construction documentation, drawings, and material or equipment specifications.
  • Interest in sustainability and asset efficiency practices within construction operations.
  • Skills And Attributes:

  • Strong organizational and coordination abilities with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with field teams, vendors, and supervisors.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and capable of learning project management or asset tracking systems.
  • Analytical mindset with a focus on data accuracy and continuous improvement.
  • Commitment to safety, integrity, and collaboration in a fast-paced project environment.
  • Ability to follow established procedures while developing professional judgment under guidance.
  • Experience:
  • University graduates may have limited direct experience, while trade-qualified candidates typically bring several years of relevant field exposure in construction or equipment operations.
  • Basic understanding of construction equipment functions, operating principles, and maintenance requirements.
  • Awareness of logistics and resource management processes in heavy industrial or construction environments.
  • Familiarity with construction documentation, drawings, and material or equipment specifications.
  • Interest in sustainability and asset efficiency practices within construction operations.
