Federal Work Study Student, Old Red Medical Museum - (2505874)

  • Minimum Qualifications: 
  • UTMB Student at least half time, any school/education program

Job Duties:

  • Undertake a general (visual/written) survey of UTMB’s historical anatomical, pathological and surgical pathology specimen collections 
  • Make recommendations for improving the organization of the collections (e.g. numbering, labelling and their physical organization) 
  • Triage/label specimens in need of conservation 
  • Undertake temporary/remedial conservation of specimens (training and materials available) 
  • Replace outdated/damaged labels with new labels 
  • Oversee the transfer of the collections data (text/images) from MS Excel to Past Perfect (museum software) utilizing training materials 
  • Support museum-related activities 
  • Performs other duties as required 
  • Salary Range:
  • Commensurate with experience.
