The Nurse Practitioner works under the supervision of the department director and the sponsoring physician. Provides expertise in cardiovascular nursing to facilitate the development and maintenance of quality, cost-effective cardiac services. Fosters the advancement of cardiac nursing practice. Through involvement in clinical consultation and direct patient care, assesses and improves the patient care process for the interventional cardiovascular patient population along the continuum of care, serving as an expert clinical resource for ensuring quality of care and customer satisfaction. Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to ensure that evidence-based practice is implemented and understood by the Patient Services staff. Serves as a link integrating relevant research, best practice and clinical delivery processes. Serves the cardiovascular program by seeing patients and writing orders in the ICU, in the Cardiac Care Center, and on the Cardiovascular Progressive Care Unit. Fits into the cardiology call schedule, as appropriate, to help support 24/7 coverage. Serves the hospital as an advanced practice nurse for the cardiovascular nursing staff.

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
- Masters degree in nursing.
- Five years recent acute care experience with demonstrated leadership experience.
- Must be able to speak, read and follow instructions in English, excellent interpersonal skills
Required Certification/Registration:
- Current California RN License and NP Licenses, Current American Heart Association BLS, and current DEA License.
- Nurse Practitioner credential in area of clinical specialization.
- Maintains medical staff credentialing as an allied health provisions.
Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:
- Minimum of one year in an Occupational Health, Health Express, Urgent Care or ED.
