As a Software Development Engineer II (SDE2) in our organization, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and robust applications, contribute to architectural decisions, and mentor junior engineers. This position provides an opportunity to impact the organization’s technology direction and help drive innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain software systems, components, and features.
  • Participate in code reviews, ensuring best practices and high standards of code quality.
  • Work with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize software for performance and reliability.
  • Contribute to system architecture and technical design discussions.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering knowledge sharing and growth within the team.
  • Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) working on-call to monitor system/product feature/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions and gains approval to restore system/product/service for simple problems.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to existing systems.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript
  • or Python OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience with Agile and DevOps processes.
  • or Python OR equivalent experience.
Other Requirments:

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in building, shipping and operating reliable, distributed systems software.
  • Ability to learn and grasps concepts quickly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Remarkable problem-solving skills and outstanding drive for results.
  • Commitment to collaboration and teamwork and ability to deliver via influence.
  • Self-starter, who proactively identifies problems and drives for resolution.
  • Experience with containers and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with Agentic AI and AI frameworks/protocols.
  • Solid technical and design skills towards problem solving w.r.to scale and optimization.
  • Solid analysis and communication experience including customer critical issues and resolution.
  • Solid programming experience in GoLang/C# Languages with Data Structures and Algorithms.
  • A bias towards action to identify the best approach.
  • Solid communication, verbal and written English skills.
Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.  Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
