As a part of this role as a Software Engineer II , you will help design and delivery of scalable, AI-native cloud applications and microservices using custom and foundation models. You’ll apply AIOps to drive intelligent observability, anomaly detection, and auto-remediation across distributed systems, powering real-time decisioning and platform resilience. You’ll support Agentic AI systems that reason, adapt, and act with goal-driven autonomy and multi-step tool use.

Responsibilities
- Build and ship scalable, AI-native cloud applications and microservices consuming custom and foundation models, RAG, and autonomous agents.
- Architect Agentic AI systems with goal-driven behavior, multi-step reasoning, and tool-use capabilities.
- Integrate MCP servers to expose internal tools and APIs to LLMs via JSON-RPC, enabling seamless agent interaction across platforms like Copilot Studio and Azure AI Foundry.
- Apply AIOps for intelligent observability, anomaly detection, and auto-remediation across distributed systems.
- Ensure the highest standards of security and quality in all aspects of our work, from design to deployment.
- Bring software engineering habits and produce high quality code that is unit tested, code reviewed and checked in regularly for continuous integration.
- Collaborate with colleagues including product owners, UX designers, AI/ML Engineers/Researchers, data scientists and other engineers to create delightful and meaningful experiences for our customers.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership: architecture, design, code reviews, development, quality assurance and live site support for mission critical services to ensure high availability, scalability, and resiliency.

Qualifications
Required Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
Or Equivalent Experience
- 2+ years of experience with Distributed Services
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Additional Or Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 3+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 5+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience
- 2+ years of experience building scalable, efficient, and reliable cloud services.
- Experience with systems design, architecture, and writing unit tests and integration/ end to end tests
- Experience working with cloud computing platforms like Azure, AWS.
- Experience in container ecosystems, including Kubernetes, Docker, etc.
- Understanding of code coverage, data structures, algorithms, multi-threaded, asynchronous programming patterns and solving complex problems, inclination for architecting at scale.
- Proficiency in Agile software delivery utilizing GitHub Copilot/Agents and Azure DevOps Service.
- Deep understanding of LLMs, Agentic AI frameworks (e.g Semantic Kernel), and orchestration patterns for autonomous systems.
- Familiarity with AIOps practices, including anomaly detection, observability, and auto-remediation strategies.
Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.
