Full Time
This position is responsible for general MR operations, including staff assignments and front-line customer service representation. The Lead performs all duties of Registered MR technologist and is the technical liaison to medical and administrative staff. The Lead technologist also promotes and maintains high-quality efficient diagnostic MR testing by maintaining departmental quality assurance programs and optimal testing protocols. Cardiac MRI experience is required.
- 1. Performs all duties of MR technologist.
- A. Follows established testing protocols. Produces highest possible quality
study images & data.
B. Able to adequately prep patients and provide quality MR guided assistance
to the physician during biopsy procedures.
C. Assesses the patient’s physical, psychosocial, and educational needs, and
obtains an appropriate history prior to each test.
D. Responsible for seeing that there is supporting information and
documentation for the exam being performed.
E. Employs knowledge of the MR technology to determine if an order revision
is appropriate, and notifies appropriate individual.
F. Adequately explains testing procedures to patients, family members as
necessary, and hospital staff members connected to the care of the patient.
- 2. Responsible for daily Department operations:
- A. Optimizes productive hours in maintaining staff work schedules, including
daily room and shift assignments, on-call coverage, and PTO.
- B. Oversees timely exam scheduling for efficient work flow within the

- 3. Establishes and maintains Quality Control standards for testing, personnel and other departmental needs.

information systems to ensure accurate hospital billing.

to protocol and documentation.

- C. Oversees the proper staff utilization of Information Systems.
- D. Evaluates and recommends new diagnostic equipment as needed.
- 5. Performs other duties as specified by the Manager and Medical Director.
Knowledge And Skills:

EDUCATION: Graduation from ARRT accredited Radiologic Technology School. Registered or trained in the MR modality.
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: At least 3 years of MR experience including cardiac MRI.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Ability to direct, delegate and to function appropriately in stressful situations. Strong communication skills with proven ability to interact positively and constructively with staff, patients and physicians both in person and by telephone. Advanced knowledge and ability to train technologist on all department equipment and teach diagnostic procedures.
Licenses & Certifications:
1) Current Basic Life Support for Health Care Employees is preferred.
