Job Summary:

We are seeking an individual who enjoys being engaged in a cohesive team and has a desire to participate in all aspects of the indirect & property tax functions.  As such, this role is responsible for assisting with transaction tax compliance, property tax, indirect tax audits, internal reverse audits, resale certificates, and tax accounting work streams.

Day-To-Day:

• Compliance and Reporting: Prepare and file timely, all multi-state and local sales and use tax returns through the compilation of OTBI data and excel templates. 
• Prepare monthly sales tax prepayments.
• Research and Analysis: Conduct research on sales and use tax matters to ensure compliance and identify potential tax savings opportunities. Research legislative and regulatory changes to state and local sales tax laws, analyze the impact on the business, and effectively communicate necessary changes to the Director of Transaction & Property Tax. 
• Audit Support: Assist Director with sales/use tax audits and appeals, including gathering data and communicating with tax authorities. 
• Research various technical topics and participate in special tax projects.
• Reviews and updates the teams tax calendar to ensure timely filing of all items (returns, license renewals, semi/annual reports).
• Assists with ongoing process improvement initiatives.
•  Respond to all requests regarding resale certificates and take ownership of the resale certificate database.
•  Assist with the quarterly property tax true up adjustments.

About You:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or 2-3 years of multi-state sales tax experience (experience in hospitality with F&B is a plus). 
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel with extensive knowledge of formulas and large datasets are necessary.
• Working knowledge of Oracle.
• Working knowledge of Checkpoint or similar tax research software.
• Skilled at time management with an ability to complete tasks in a competent and timely fashion.
• Desire and ability to collaborate effectively with clubs as well as the entire tax team.
