Location: Bradenton, FL

About The Role:

The Accounting Manager maintains financial records and ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded. You will ensure the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger. In addition, they will prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.

  • Conducts supervisory reviews of accounting staff, procedures, and financial statement preparation across multiple clients
  • Performs general cost accounting and related duties within the accounting department.
  • Prepares monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
  • Analyzes monthly financial data to provide insights and recommendations to client management.
  • Reviews bank reconciliations on a monthly basis, verifies deposits, and responds to bank inquiries.
  • Reviews accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) reconciliations; assists in managing payables and receivables.
  • Verifies invoice payments related to accounts payable and ensures charges are allocated to the appropriate accounts.
  • Supports external auditors by providing necessary documentation and account information for the annual audit.
  • Prepares and files required tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.
  • As appropriate, coordinates with software vendor to maintain accounting software system; recommends updates to enhance the accounting software.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities:

Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting

Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.

Highly proficient with accounting software

Position Responsibilities And Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline required.
  • Generally, 5+ years of accounting experience is required.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years experience in a manager/supervisory role.
  • CPA, preferred - Not required.
