Description
Gravity Haus is looking for a Task Force Executive Chef to provide hands-on leadership and operational support at our Cabin Juice Restaurant in Breckenridge, Colorado. This role is ideal for an experienced, adaptable culinary leader who thrives on stepping into dynamic environments—offering stability, driving excellence, and elevating both the guest and team experience.
The Task Force Executive Chef will oversee daily culinary operations, coach the kitchen team, and ensure the seamless execution of Gravity Haus’s culinary standards during times of transition, growth, or peak seasonal demand.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead & Stabilize: Provide leadership during transitional periods—guiding and supporting the kitchen team to maintain exceptional standards in food quality, presentation, and service.
- Operational Excellence: Manage day-to-day kitchen operations including staffing, training, food costing, inventory control, and vendor relationships.
- Menu Execution: Collaborate with the Corporate Culinary team and property leaders to implement and maintain Gravity Haus menus, recipes, and seasonal specials.
- Team Development: Mentor and train BOH team members to ensure consistency, efficiency, and professional growth.
- Financial Stewardship: Analyze and manage labor, food, and operating costs to meet budget targets.
- Guest Experience: Ensure all dishes are executed to brand standards and contribute to an elevated, memorable dining experience.
- Continuous Improvement: Assess kitchen processes and implement improvements that strengthen long-term operational performance.
- Sustainability Focus: Promote local sourcing, waste reduction, and environmentally conscious kitchen practices.
Who You Are
- 6+ years of progressive culinary experience, including management roles in upscale or resort high-volume kitchens.
- Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience preferred.
- ServSafe or similar certification preferred
- Adaptable + Resourceful: Thrives in change, capable of quickly assessing needs and building structure.
- Hands-On + Collaborative: Leads by example, fostering a positive, team-oriented environment.
- Operationally Strong: Skilled in budgeting, cost control, purchasing, and P&L management.
- Creative + Strategic: Passionate about ingredient-driven cuisine and seasonal menu development.
