Position Summary

The Commercial HVAC Sales Representative is responsible for driving new business growth and maintaining strong relationships with existing clients in the commercial sector. This individual will proactively identify and engage property owners, tenants, and facility managers of warehouses, offices, retail centers, and small business spaces to promote our full range of HVAC services—including emergency repair, routine maintenance programs, and system replacement projects.

This position requires a motivated, technically knowledgeable salesperson who can develop trust through consultative selling, accurately scope and price projects, and work closely with operations to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Lead Generation

  • Proactively prospect and establish relationships with owners and managers of commercial and light industrial facilities.
  • Identify opportunities for HVAC service agreements, preventive maintenance programs, and equipment replacements.
  • Conduct site visits to evaluate systems and uncover pain points or inefficiencies.
  • Build a consistent pipeline through cold calling, networking, business associations, and targeted outreach campaigns.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned commercial clients.
  • Maintain and grow existing customer relationships by ensuring satisfaction and timely follow-up.
  • Provide ongoing communication and updates for proposals, repairs, and maintenance schedules.
  • Coordinate with service and installation departments to ensure smooth project execution and excellent client experiences.

Estimating & Quoting

  • Gather detailed information from site assessments and customer discussions to support accurate proposals.
  • Work with estimating and operations teams to prepare competitive bids, quotes, and maintenance agreements.
  • Understand equipment types, tonnage, and configurations to effectively communicate costs and timelines.
  • Assist in developing multi-year upgrade or replacement plans for recurring clients.

Market & Product Knowledge

  • Maintain strong working knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, components, and industry terminology.
  • Understand labor costs,  time-to-complete factors, and service area logistics when pricing and scheduling work.
  • Stay current on product updates, energy efficiency programs, and manufacturer rebates.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 3+ years of proven success in commercial HVAC sales or related B2B technical service sales.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems and HVAC terminology.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and      Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for field travel.

Preferred:

  • Experience with estimating software or commercial service agreement sales.
  • Technical background or field experience in HVAC, facilities, or building maintenance.
  • Established contacts within commercial real estate, property management, or construction networks.

Performance Expectations

  • Achieve monthly and annual revenue goals through new customer acquisition and retention.
  • Maintain a minimum number of new qualified leads and proposals per week.
  • Ensure all customer information and project updates are accurately entered into CRM.
  • Actively contribute feedback to improve sales processes and marketing efforts.
