Description
Provide support to program Underwriters for the Occupational Accident Program. Serve clients and insureds via verbal and written communication. Maintain accounts to align with underwriting decisions and maintain imaging files with proper documentation. Build trusting relationships and utilize marketing skills to achieve results.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist Underwriters with the underwriting process and customer service
- Understand and comply with carrier contracts and coverholder agreements
- Quote and bind renewal accounts as tasked
- Review and process binders and policies on new and renewal business
- Invoice monthly reported premium for clients and assist with client support
- Obtain and review independent contractor enrollment forms
- Recognize the importance of deadlines in daily Workflow tasks and take initiative to complete ahead of schedule when appropriate
- Assist with creating and implementing Standard Operating Procedures for the department processes and training team members
- Contribute to organization effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues, providing information and commentary pertinent to deliberations, recommending options and courses of action, and implementing directives
- Maintain inter and intradepartmental workflow by fostering a spirit of cooperation and accountability
- Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing tasks as assigned, with a sense of urgency
- Expand underwriting and technical knowledge through various methods as agreed upon by manager
- Pursue education to enhance industry knowledge by completing:
Associate in Insurance (AINS), Associate in Insurance Services (AIS), Associate in Commercial Underwriting (AU), Associate in Surplus Lines (ASLI)
- Travel as deemed necessary by the Manager, to both agencies & companies
- Other duties as assigned
Education And Work Experience:
- 2-year degree in General Business or related field, preferred but not required
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Insurance or related field preferred
- Must be able to successfully pass any required Producer Licenses
