What are the duties and responsibilities?

  • Provide medical care to ill and injured students according to list of standing orders provided by medical doctor 
  • Keep record of all services provided to students in computer charging software 
  • Fill out injury/accident reports when applicable on students injured
  • Order medical supplies when needed for nurse’s office  
  • Coordinate student medical orders/needs as needed with students' home school nurse and teachers, as permitted following confidentiality requirements  
  • Participate in staff development training programs, faculty meetings and/or special events as assigned  
  • Maintain confidentiality 
  • Participate in staff development training programs, faculty meetings and/or special events as assigned  

What are the required qualifications?

  • Licensed Practical Nurse License
  • CPR and First Aid certification
  • Knowledgeable in communicable diseases and symptoms of illness. 
  • Knowledgeable in emergency treatment and facilities available for referrals for life-threatening situations. 
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to different school settings.
  • Willingness to go through and pass the required clearances and training to ensure the safety and security of our children, including: mandated reporter training, a physical, and TB test. This can typically be accomplished within a week to get you started.
  • Physical, TB and Drug Test done within one year 
  • Mandated Reporter Certificate
