Responsibilities
- Lead mid-market M&A financial due diligence engagements end-to-end, including planning, timelines, and client communication.
- Serve as a trusted right-hand to the partner, taking ownership of engagements and supporting practice growth.
- Grow with the business, taking on increasing responsibility as the due diligence practice expands.
- Conduct detailed financial analysis, including quality of earnings, sustainability of EBITDA, working capital, net debt, and forecasted/projected income statements.
- Identify and communicate key risks or considerations impacting the client’s business, including SPA clauses, post-transaction factors, industry-specific issues, and macroeconomic trends.
- Proactively leverage AI, technology tools, and market insights to enhance deliverables and improve engagement efficiency.
- Support business development through proposal preparation, engagement letters, and networking within the local business community.
- Coordinate with other due diligence teams (TDD, ODD, CDD, HRDD) to ensure smooth information flow and alignment across all deliverables.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of associates, fostering capability, accountability, and a high-performing, collaborative, and fun team culture.
- Maintain an organized and methodical approach to work, ensuring administrative documentation, safeguards, and project updates are handled accurately and communicated regularly to the partner.
Skills And Experience
- CPA designation required; CBV, CFA, or ACCA credentials considered an asset.
- Master’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is considered an asset.
- 6+ years of professional services experience, including at least 3 years in Transaction Advisory / Financial Due Diligence.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, including IFRS, ASPE, and/or US GAAP.
- Extensive experience in financial analysis and modeling
- Strong project management skills, including planning, delegation, and managing timelines and client expectations.
- Collaborative, team-oriented, and positive attitude with the ability to foster a fun and high-performing work environment.
- Willingness to work outside regular hours and travel as required.
