Senior Payroll Specialist

Description

The Senior Payroll Specialist is responsible for managing complex payroll processes, ensuring compliance with regulations, and serving as a subject matter expert within the Finance team. This role supports domestic and international payroll operations and collaborates with HR and Finance globally to maintain accurate and timely compensation.

Key Responsibilities

• Process payroll for multiple states and countries under strict deadlines
• Reconcile payroll register, source document, and funding total each pay period
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
• Review and verify payroll data entries, deductions, and adjustments
• Handle complex payroll scenarios including retroactive pay, garnishments, commissions and benefits
• Generate and analyze payroll reports for internal and external stakeholders
• Support audits and regulatory filings 
• Act as a point of contact for escalated payroll inquiries

Skills, Knowledge And Expertise

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of payroll experience, preferably in multi-state or large-scale environments
  • Strong knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance standards
  • Proficiency in payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Workday, Paychex).
  • Experience with NetSuite/Ceridian a plus
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
  • CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification is highly desirable

  • Experience with payroll reporting and reconciliation
