The Position

As the Senior Manager of Public Affairs and Communications, you will lead our communications strategy locally and globally. You will be responsible for managing corporate communications and media relations while building strong stakeholder relationships. Collaborating with a high-performing team, you will drive community engagement initiatives and advocate for policies that foster a supportive environment for our operations.

The position is based in Novo Nordisk Zurich Affiliate.

Your Main Tasks Will Include:

  • Develop and Execute Public Affairs Strategies

Design and implement comprehensive strategies to enhance our organization’s reputation and influence public opinion, aligning these initiatives with corporate objectives.

  • Manage Corporate Communications and Media Relations

Craft compelling messages for press releases, interviews, and public statements, serving as the primary point of contact for media inquiries and managing crisis communications effectively.

  • Build and Maintain Relationships with Key Stakeholders

Foster strong connections with government officials, industry leaders, and community representatives, ensuring consistent messaging and alignment with stakeholder interests.

  • Oversee Community Engagement Initiatives

Lead programs aimed at addressing local socio-economic and environmental challenges while promoting Novo Nordisk’s image through public education and awareness campaigns.

  • Monitor and Influence Government Policies and Regulations

Track legislative developments and assess their implications, advocating for policies that support our operations and the wellbeing of communities.

You will work closely with global functions and stakeholders throughout the organization, actively partnering with market access and regulatory teams and community outreach professionals to ensure cohesive communications strategies.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, you have:

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in public affairs, corporate communications, or a related field.
  • Proven track record in managing pharma external stakeholder relationships, including government and community engagement.
  • Experience in developing and executing strategic communication plans to enhance organisational reputation.
  • Proven experience in team leadership and personnel management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Political Science, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Fluency in English, German and French is required.
