About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Land Surveyor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in using Leica equipment and have extensive experience in both fieldwork and office-based survey tasks. This role requires flexibility for day and night work (1.5 rate), as well as hands-on surveying experience.Key Responsibilities
- Conduct a wide range of surveys including traversing, monitoring, setting out and topographic surveys using standard and laser scanning techniques
- Operate Leica Total Stations, laser scanners, and precise levels with high accuracy
- Process, manage, and interpret survey data using software such as AutoCAD 2D/3D and N4CE
- Prepare survey reports and drawings from collected data
- Work independently on-site and ensure data quality meets company and industry standards
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations on site
- Supervise/manage site teams and mentor survey team members, providing technical guidance and training
- Collaborate with site teams and stakeholders to ensure survey outputs meet project needs
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Essential Requirements:- Extensive experience using Leica survey equipment (Total Stations, laser scanners, precise levels, GPS)
- Knowledge of surveying software: AutoCAD 2D/3D and N4CE to be able to process all on site data (Traverse, Topographic, Monitoring etc)
- Proven experience performing site surveys including traversing, monitoring, and topographic work
- Full manual driving licence
- Ability to work independently in the field and adapt to changing work schedules
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong problem-solving skills on-site and in data processing
- Effective communication and reporting skills
- Self-motivated and able to work without direct supervision
- Experience generating drawings from point cloud data
- Process point cloud data in Leica Cyclone
- Relevant degree, diploma, or industry-recognised qualification
- Membership of a professional body (e.g. CInstCES, RICS)
