The Global Streaming Platform organization is looking for a Principal Product Manager to join the Platform Product team. This role will be focused on our Video Playback features and the Playback UI experience, responsible for creating a product vision for how to evolve and innovate video playback for Peacock, NOW/WOW, SkyShowtime, and Showmax. You’ll be challenged to think about how we can deliver the best viewing experience no matter what device or what type of content the user is watching. This role will partner closely with our Engagement Product team, who are charged with creating a vision for Peacock content experiences and UI across all devices. This is an opportunity to be part of a fast-paced and ambitious initiative focused on creating the next generation of streaming products.    

In This Role, You Will:

  • Build and lead global product strategy, roadmap, and define measurements of success for the Video Platform and the Playback UI experience across mobile, web, and connected device integrations
  • Inspire teams and leadership to rally around the power and evolution of new video technologies
  • Develop strong relationships with industry counterparts and vendors to help bring the next generation of video to Peacock
  • Collaborate with cross-functional business & technology stakeholders including operations, design and engineering to develop a best-in-class user video experience
  • Stay abreast of the competitive streaming landscape to inform strategic decisions
  • Envision feature sets for the ultimate viewing experience of live, linear, VOD, and shortform content beyond 4K/HDR, 60 FPS, DVR, enhanced player capabilities, and accessibility
  • Create balanced, performant and informative player UX experiences that satisfy superfans without alienating casual consumers of entertainment, sports and news
  • Translate complex problems into compelling features and functionality that drive consumption, business goals and competitive advantage
  • Prioritize feature delivery through quarterly roadmaps: balancing commercial feasibility, customer impact and technical complexity
  • Manage executive stakeholders through the full product lifecycle: from definition to go/no-go decision
  • Create and deliver executive presentations that explain product features and roadmaps, as and when required

What You Have:

  • Ability to drive rapid development and change urgency
  • Desire for creating innovative and engaging consumer products in the digital ecosystem, with a focus on streaming video, interactive television, live & VOD content.
  • Previous experience working on a video player/playback product (B2C Preferred)
  • Knowledge of emerging video trends to evaluate what best fits Peacock
  • Empathy for the user and how to meet their needs and delight them with innovative solutions.
  • Vision to anticipate the ever-evolving video delivery and streaming trends, as well as an appreciation for TV/entertainment
  • Personal passion and experience with cutting edge audio/video products.
  • In-depth understanding of end-to-end video delivery
  • Comprehensive knowledge of sports including both US (NFL, NBA, WWE) and International (e.g. Premier League)
  • Distinguished verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills to work with Sales, Marketing, Operations & Engineering Leadership
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate a wide range of detailed information, clearly identifying the pertinent points to determine coherent approaches to problems
  • Demonstrated ability to work with engineering teams to discuss technical concepts, make tradeoffs to remove roadblocks, and evaluate new ideas
  • Flexibility to quickly adapt to evolving priorities and deadlines, ability to energize stakeholder teams towards common goals and objectives
  • Enthusiasm to be positive, confident, energetic and display a willingness to lead

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in a relevant field
  • 7+ years working in a Product Management (or similar) role, developing video products at scale, delivering excellent customer experiences and measurable business impact
  • A strong technical understanding of all aspects of streaming media, including 4K/HDR, DAI, encoding, streaming protocols, container formats and DRM systems
  • Streaming video experience across platforms (e.g. iOS, Android, Amazon, Roku) and domains (e.g. TV, Movies, Sports, News, Kids)
  • Experience converting business ideas and research into well-thought-out and timely product releases
  • Software literacy and comfort with various project management tools such as Asana, Jira, Trello or similar as well as analytics software

Salary range: $170,000 - $220,000 (bonus and long-term incentive eligible).
