What do you offer?

The Director, Employment Services is responsible for the leadership of Employment Ontario sites and services and complimentary programs as assigned. Reporting to the Associate Vice President, Employment Services the Director will ensure excellent customer service, responsible fiscal and human resources management, community leadership and achievement of all strategic outcomes.

Some of the tasks of this position include:

  • Overseeing and supervising multiple programs and program managers
  • Assessing, developing, implementing and evaluating program procedures as outlined by the funder
  • Advocating for programs to clients, community networks, stakeholders and partners
  • Participating in the development and implementation of strategic plans to maximize service delivery within budget
  • Creating monthly and quarterly reports as required by funders
  • Overseeing a large budget including identifying proper usage of funding requests, overseeing documentation requirements as per finance guidelines, funder guidelines, brokered incentive agreements and corresponding targets

What qualifications and abilities are we looking for?

The successful candidate will have the following:

Education

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent in a related field

Language

  • Fluent in English, oral and written
  • Other languages are an asset

Experience, Skills and Abilities

  • 3-5 years’ experience in program management and leadership experience
  • Experience with the Employment Ontario integrated services model
  • Proven leadership skills and sound judgement
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Extensive experience with budget and financials
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to compile and analyze data and statistics
  • Ability to develop and maintain partnerships with a variety of stakeholders

Additional Requirements:

  • Applicants must already have a valid permit to work in Canada.
  • A Police Record check, not more than 6 months old is required. Police Records checks are reviewed on an individual basis and the offense(s) - if any - is considered in the decision-making process in relation to the requirement of working with children, therefore not eliminating all candidates with a record from being offered a position.
  • Annually, staff must complete the mandatory training for the protection of Children & Youth and submit the certificate of completion.
