Job Description
We are looking for a collaborative and hands-on HR Generalist to join our growing APJ HR team. This role will serve as the primary HR point of contact for Japan and support HR operations and initiatives across the APJ region. You will play an integral role in delivering day-to-day HR support, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and fostering employee engagement. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to regional HR programs and work closely with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, global environment.
This position will report to the APJ HR Director, based in Singapore. We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced organization, agile and not afraid to roll up their sleeves and capable to support the ever-evolving business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Japan HR Support:
- Serve as the main HR contact for employees in Japan, handling day-to-day HR queries and coordinating with regional and global HR functions.
- Ensure compliance with Japanese employment laws and coordinate with external partners such as payroll and benefits vendors as required.
- Support implementation of corporate and regional HR programs locally, ensuring they align with Japan’s business needs and practices.
- Regional HR Generalist (APJ):
- Provide HR operational support across multiple APJ markets, collaborating closely with the regional and global HR teams
- Support delivery of HR programs such as performance management, talent reviews, learning and development, and engagement initiatives.
- Assist with HR process improvements, documentation, and data accuracy across the region.
- Operational Excellence:
- Partner with global Centers of Excellence (COEs) in areas such as Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition, and Learning & Development to execute key initiatives.
- Manage HR administration, reporting, and documentation to ensure compliance and efficiency.
- Contribute to global and regional HR projects and support ad-hoc HR needs as they arise

Qualifications
- 8–10 years of broad HR Generalist experience, ideally within a multinational or IT or technology industry
- Prior experience supporting HR operations for Japan is strongly preferred
- Solid understanding of Japanese employment law and HR practices.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across different cultures and stakeholders.
- Self-starter who can manage multiple priorities, stay organized, and deliver in a fast-paced, matrixed environment
- Exposure to regional HR operations across APJ
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, hands-on approach.
- Experience supporting Go-to-Market (GTM) or commercial teams is preferred
- Native to business-level Japanese preferred
