Hours And Compensation

  • Full-Time, 40 hours weekly
  • 7:30am - 4pm 
  • Ability to work weekends and being available on call for after hour emergencies 
  • $21.75 - $25/hour
  • This position may be eligible for a shift differential depending upon schedule.

Job Description

The Plumber I assists in the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems under the guidance of a licensed plumber. This position is designed for individuals who are learning the trade and gaining hands-on experience to become a certified plumber. The role involves working on various plumbing tasks, learning to troubleshoot and repair systems, and developing skills needed to perform the job independently in the future.

  • Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
  • Install pipes, fittings, and fixtures such as sinks, toilets, water heaters, and other plumbing equipment.
  • Assist in connecting plumbing systems to water and sewage lines.
  • Study and adhere to local plumbing codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Ensure work is completed in compliance with all relevant industry regulations and specifications.
  • Use and maintain plumbing tools and equipment, including pipe cutters, wrenches, soldering
  • Assist in diagnosing plumbing problems and determine appropriate repairs or solutions.
  • Learn to read blueprints and technical diagrams to understand plumbing layouts and systems.
  • Help with clearing clogs, fixing leaks, and resolving drainage issues.

Qualifications

  • High School graduate or GED
  • 2-5 years of hands-on experience working as an apprentice plumber and meeting the certification requirements.
  • Experience with hand tools.
  • Must be able to read blueprints and schematics.
  • Valid state driver’s license.
  • Maryland Plumbers Apprentice License
