Role Purpose
As Global Process Owner (GPO) for Master Data Management (MDM) within the Global Business Services (GBS) organization, you will own end‑to‑end master data processes for the domain. You serve as a bridge between the Global Master Data Governance Team (which sets policy, standards, governance) and the business/operations side across functions both in the Group and Clusters. As a partner to the Master Data Operations Manager, you support & ensure that the GBS Master Data Operations team is well‑equipped, governed, efficient, and compliant. You will also act as Data Owner for key finance data objects, own relevant controls, support ERP implementation phases, and be a key stakeholder partner.

  • Strategy & Governance
  • Set strategic direction for the Master Data Management across the functional areas
  • Ensure alignment and buy-in for Master Data transformation initiatives across the Process Owners community and other key stakeholders
  • Act as Data Owner for the finance master data objects 
  • Liaise with the global master data governance team: ensure policy alignment, influence data standards, and escalate issues.
  • Define, maintain, and ensure that compliance standards are properly reflected in the process documentation (SOPs), policies, and guidelines related to systems (e.g. SAP).
  • Process Ownership & Excellence
  • Own and continuously improve end‑to‑end processes for master data management
  • Identify business‑reality constraints; translate business needs into data/process requirements.
  • Lead process optimization initiatives in collaboration with other stakeholders
  • Identify and address any relevant knowledge, tools, and training gaps within the MDM.
  • Define, track, and report KPIs / targets for master data quality, timeliness, compliance.
  • Controls & Compliance
  • Put in place relevant controls; own design and oversee implementation of controls (data integrity, segregation of duties, accuracy, completeness).
  • Be a single point of contact for Internal Audit regarding master data management – support periodic reviews and relevant audit(s) requests.
  • Monitor and remediate control breaches or issues.
  • Stakeholder & Change Management
  • Engage senior stakeholders (VP / SVP Finance, Data & Analytics, D&T, ERP program leads) to ensure understanding and alignment.
  • Facilitate workshops, align cross‑stream elements (in example: Sales Prices, ICP, Standard Cost, Stores, etc.).
  • Promote Local Finance Heads

We're the perfect match, if You have: 

  • At least Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Data Management, Business Administration, Information Systems or similar.
  • 7‑10+ years of experience in Master Data Management (Finance Shared Services or GBS environment is an asset) and proven record of owning finance master data domains.
  • Experience working with SAP or similar ERP systems in master data modules and prior involvement in large ERP implementations (SAP S/4HANA etc.) is a must.
  • Strong business acumen: ability to understand finance processes, decision trade‑offs, commercial impact.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills; ability to influence and negotiate at senior levels.
  • Analytical mindset, with ability to define, monitor KPIs; strong quantitative skills.
  • Deep understanding of data governance, data quality, controls / internal audit.
  • Process thinking: mapping, documentation (SOPs), optimization, standardization.
  • Experience with change management, process redesign methodologies.
  • Familiarity with data management tools, dashboards, automation tools.
  • Experience in leadership of remote / globally‑distributed teams.
  • Integrity and ability to enforce compliance.
  • Collaborative mindset, open to cross‑functional partnership.
  • Comfortable working in ambiguous situations; balancing rigor & pragmatism.
  • Curious about new technologies / best practices in data management.
