As an EIX Sustainability Consultant through SEI’s Climate Corps Fellowship program, you’ll help advance innovative climate and energy solutions with our partner, Edison International. This is a hybrid position with the expectation of onsite work 2 days per week & remote 3 days per week.

In this Fellowship, you will play a key role in advancing strategic sustainability objectives across Edison International, with a particular focus on supporting the company’s net-zero strategy and sustainable supply chain efforts, through a variety of technical analysis, research, communication, and strategic advisory tasks. What You’Ll Do

  • Analyze peer utility and industry supply chain sustainability strategies, commitments, and supplier engagement practices to identify best-in-class approaches.
  • Monitor ESG trends in supply chain management, with a focus on greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions estimation and reduction strategies.
  • Leverage resources from the Sustainable Supply Chain Alliance and peer networks to identify tools, case studies, and collaboration opportunities.
  • Refine supply chain GHG emissions calculations through new emission calculation methodologies and closing data gaps with suppliers.
  • Conduct a hotspot analysis of our existing emissions inventory to prioritize supplier engagement and emission reduction opportunities.
  • Develop a data-driven supply chain emissions reduction roadmap aligned with company strategy, including actionable recommendations and value propositions.
  • Lead the annual supplier sustainability questionnaire process, including analysis of responses and identification of improvement areas.
  • Facilitate supplier engagement through meetings, forums, and training materials focused on sustainability practices and expectations.
  • Develop guidance and resources to support suppliers in advancing their sustainability performance.
  • Prepare meeting agendas, facilitate meetings, and keep a record of outcomes, next steps, and updates to the team with internal and external parties.
  • Prepare executive summaries, presentations, and other documentation to share findings from project work.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, sustainability, environmental engineering, or a related environmental or engineering field.
  • Flexible mindset, responsive to deadlines, and able to prioritize projects and be flexible when shifting scope.
  • The ability to work onsite on a hybrid basis (onsite work 2 days per week & remote 3 days per week). This position requires the employee to be physically located within commuting distance of the site location at the time of hire. Only candidates currently residing within commuting distance of the site address will be considered.

  • Authorization to work in the United States for the duration of the fellowship (SEI is unable to sponsor visas).
  • May require occasional moving about to accomplish tasks, moving from one worksite to another, or adjusting or moving objects under 25-50 pounds in all directions.

Nice-To-Haves

  • Master’s degree or graduate-level coursework in supply chain management, sustainability, environmental engineering, or a related environmental or engineering field is strongly preferred.
  • Related experience in supply chain, climate action, and strategic planning, GHG emissions estimation, business operation analysis, supply chain sourcing, supplier relationship management, process optimization, and/or data analysis.
  • Demonstrated passion for sustainability and a desire to contribute to Edison International’s mission to lead the clean energy transition.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills, with experience developing or supporting business initiatives, product launches, or large-scale organizational efforts.
  • Ability to break down complex problems into actionable insights and communicate recommendations clearly to diverse audiences, including senior leadership.
  • Detail-oriented and consistent in producing high-quality, polished work products and analyses.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and adapt to shifting scopes and deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and carry out assignments, make independent judgments and/or decisions, and discern when action at a higher level is required.

What We Provide

  • A fixed, monthly stipend of $4667.
  • $2000 end-of-program financial award.​
  • Health care coverage with 100% of health care insurance premiums covered by SEI.
  • Climate Corps Fellows receive 20 personal days for a standard 10-month fellowship (equivalent to about 2 days per month), which may be used for vacation, holidays, or sick time. Fellowships longer than 10 months include additional days, prorated accordingly.
