Position Title: Junior Benefits and Financial Analyst
Department: Finance
Location: Toronto
- Status: Contract 5 months (Hybrid)
Day In The Life Of:
The CIRO Finance department is seeking a Junior Benefits and Financial Analyst to join our payroll team to support the ongoing benefit reconciliations, month-end GL entries and payroll year-end deliverables.
The Junior Benefits and Financial Analyst will report to the Payroll Accounting Lead and possess experience with financial analysis, HR principles and data processing.
Core Responsibilities:
- Liaise with the third-party benefits provider; Canada Life to ensure accuracy in billing and reporting
- Prepare documentation for billing of benefits payments and ensure Canada life accurately applied payments to the various policies
- Maintain detailed documentation of benefits including billing and monthly reconciliations
- Coordinate and support employee enrolment in group benefit plans
- Manage changes in coverage, terminations, and reconciliations
- Preparation of routine journal entries
- Assist with year-end payroll reconciliation process
- Other ad-hoc tasks as assigned
Education And Experience:
- Post-secondary education in finance, accounting, human resources or equivalent
- Previous co-op / internship placements considered an asset
Key Skills And Competencies:
- Experience with Financial & Data Analysis
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUP)
- Some exposure to HRIS & ERP Systems a plus
