As our People Operations Associate, you will play an important role in keeping our people processes smooth, compliant, and human-centric as we continue to grow. You’ll be the go-to person for day-to-day HR administration, employee lifecycle coordination, and operational support across our People Team. Optics11 is an Amsterdam-based high-tech scale-up pioneering fiber-optic sensing technology across Underwater Security and Energy markets. Our solutions enable advanced sonar systems for naval infrastructure and predictive monitoring for power-grid reliability.
This is a hands-on, detail-oriented role where you’ll collaborate closely with our People Operations Lead and Recruitment Lead to ensure our people experience runs seamlessly from hiring to offboarding and everything in between.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain employee data in our HRIS (Personio), ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Support payroll preparation by keeping employee records, absences, and contract data up to date.
- Serve as the first point of contact for employee HR queries regarding policies, benefits, or procedures.
- Prepare employment contracts and official letters in collaboration with the People Operations Lead.
- Maintain and improve people processes and documentation (templates, checklists, internal policies) in collaboration with the People Team.
- Assist in reporting and data collection for HR metrics (headcount, turnover, sick leave, etc.).
- Support recruitment coordination tasks when needed (interview scheduling, candidate communication, sourcing).

Requirements
What We Are Looking For:
- 0–1 year of experience in HR, People Operations, or a similar administrative role, or a strong interest in starting a career in HR and learning quickly on the job.
- Hands-on experience with an HR system is a plus (Personio or similar HRIS).
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and confidentiality.
- A proactive, service-minded approach and willingness to continuously improve processes.
- Problem-solving attitude, eager to learn via collaboration and feedback.
- Strong communication skills in English (Dutch is a plus).
- Passionate about creating a great employee experience and supporting a growing international team.
