Role Overview :
- We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to drive our sourcing, investment, and publishing efforts in the Chinese market. This role will be instrumental in identifying high-potential games, managing licensing and publishing partnerships, and shaping our long-term China strategy for NEOWIZ titles and IPs.
Responsibilities:
- 1. Game Sourcing and Selection
- Build a strong network of Chinese developers and IP owners to discover promising new titles.
- Lead internal review processes to evaluate and shortlist potential candidates.
- 2. Investment and Contract Negotiation
- Conduct feasibility analyses and valuations for sourcing or licensing opportunities.
- Lead negotiations on deal structures, licensing agreements, and investment contracts.
- 3. China Publishing and Partnership Management
- Manage licensing, rights sales, and distribution for NEOWIZ games in China.
- Drive collaborations (e.g., crossovers, co-marketing) with local partners.
- 4. Market and Competitive Analysis
- Monitor Chinese and global game trends, genre popularity, competitor portfolios, and profitability.
- Provide data-driven insights to guide strategic decision-making.
- 5. Project Management and Execution Oversight
- Oversee the lifecycle of sourced games, including development, QA, launch, and live operations.
- Coordinate with internal studios, external partners, and outsourcing vendors.
- 6. Performance Measurement and Strategy Optimization
- Track KPIs (revenue, user engagement, retention, etc.) for post-launch evaluation.
- Refine sourcing and publishing strategies based on performance reviews.
- 7. Stakeholder & Risk Management(additional)
- Ensure smooth communication across internal teams (legal, finance, marketing).
- Proactively address regulatory and cultural risks in the Chinese market.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Game Design, or related field (MBA preferred).
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in game publishing, business development, or investment.
- Proven track record in game sourcing/licensing in China.
Skills:
- Strong negotiation, contract management, and deal-structuring capabilities.
- In-depth understanding of the Chinese game industry ecosystem and regulations.
- Solid financial modeling and KPI analysis skills.
- Excellent project management and cross-functional collaboration.
- Languages: Fluent in Korean and Mandarin, English proficiency strongly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in PC/Console/Mobile multi-platform publishing.
- Strong network with Chinese developers, publishers, and platforms.
- Familiarity with subculture/二次元 genres and local fandom culture.
- Previous experience in global BD or partnership management.
