Job Description

Powertrain Solutions is a provider of diversified powertrain products and solutions in our three market segments Electric Vehicles (EL), Passenger Cars (PC), and Commercial Vehicles / Off-Road (CV/OR) – from gasoline and diesel injection to electric drives with battery and fuel cell technologies.
 

We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive engineer to join our embedded software development team.

As a Software Engineer, more specifically as Software System Designer, you are responsible for defining the Software requirements for powertrain control systems for conventional Internal Combustion Engines (ICE), Hybrid and Electric Vehicles (HEV/BEV). You will apply your deep understanding of these control systems in collaboration with the design team and customer to develop, implement, validate and release effective solutions that create a win-win scenario for our customer and our team. Our extensive customer portfolio includes a spectrum of major manufacturers for passenger cars and commercial vehicles including highly advanced technical applications.

As a Software Engineer on our team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Customer interface for requirement management and issue resolution.
  • Analyze and clarify customer requirements.
  • Understand the vehicle functionality as a system, in order to propose and develop solutions at a component level.
  • Create and document software design and test plans.
  • Implement and test new functionality in software.
  • Perform design and implementation reviews.
  • Support investigations, separate the customer software issues from Bosch software issues and resolution of customer bug reports.
  • Coordination with our international design, development, integration, and project management team, as well as with our customers.

A successful candidate will be familiar with embedded software development and vehicle system design, will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and a great attitude to learn and work as a team player.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • B.S. or higher in Engineering (preferably Computer, Electronic or Automobile engineering)
  • At least 2~3 year experience in software development in embedded system or in automotive field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Good powertrain system knowledge (Diesel, Gasoline, Hybrid, Electric Vehicle)
  • Software or Hardware related work experiences with engine control or powertrain control modules.
  • Strong C programming skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Practical knowledge of ASPICE and exposure to agile development methods.
  • Knowledge of Autosar and/or Adaptive Autosar based system architectures.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Excellent problem solving, presentation and teamwork skills.
  • Capable of working with a variety of scripting languages.
  • Familiarity with electrical schematics.
